Jesus, do I have to write this column? After beating the Huns at Hampden in the CIS Cup semi-final, we immediately turned our eyes to the Final. Inevitably, our form slumped in the run-up to the Final. First up were Dundee United, managed by arch-whiner Ian McCall. Dundee on a cold, wet, windy Wednesday night is about as appealing as taking a blowtorch to your eyeballs. And so it proved, as the only bright spot in a dire 0-0 draw in front of about 30 United fans was the form, once again, of Daniel Anderson. Ian McCall no doubt claimed later that his team played Hibs off the park, that they were desperately unlucky not to win, and that Charlie Miller should play for Scotland. Heard it all before McCall – it was pish the first time you said it and it remains pish.

Anyone who was not on Mars during the whole of April now knows that after the recent televised Monaco vs Chelsea game, football pundit Ron Atkinson when he thought he was off mike, had this to say about Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly:

"He's what is known is some schools as a fucking lazy thick nigger".
