We've beat Rangers and Celtic and yet... Print E-mail

ImageI STILL DON'T BELIEVE IT

As the final batch of hibbies braved sub zero temperatures to secure their tickets, I'm left scratching my head. We've put out Rangers and Celtic, and yet we are STILL heading through to Glasgow for a cup final

We could have easily filled Hampden on our own (and probably will aside from 5000 screaming banshee bairns with their golden shower and drums) and yet there are still Hibbies I know who have yet to secure cup final tickets.

Put for a moment to one side the fact they don't turn up every week, although a quarter of them would be nice, and think about this. In Edinburgh, we have the best stadium in Scotland and one that could hold FIFTEEN THOUSAND MORE PEOPLE. Who is Scottish football serving? Why are we all traipsing through to Hampden when we could be playing the game in Edinburgh. Is the SFL in conspiracy with coach companies who are profiteering from our plight and charging exhorbitant prices for their buses?

I pity the poor sods stuck behind the goals, a fair distance away from the action and with the worst view in Scottish football of the other end of the ground. Why was Hampden allowed to happen? Why were they allowed to refurbish it, so that we could suffer days like this?

Not to worry, next season we should be able to sample the delights of Murrayfield ourselves. And then ANYONE who wants to attend will be able to.
