And so on to 1985. Gordon Rae missed the final through suspension, and Hibs ultimately caved in to what was still a very good Aberdeen side. The Dons prevailed over us in both cup competitions, and won both cups in the year Hearts done the double. Or not as the case may be.
Hibs lost their first six straight league games this season, but midweek they were untouchable. Around ten thousand Hibs fans tripped through to Glasgow for the semi final second leg against Rangers.
