Indeed, in the year of our lord 1902, Hibs did the unthinkable and won 1-0 at Parkhead in the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic.
The Hibs team that won the Scottish Cup on this day in 1902 were: Harry Rennie, Archie Gray, Bobby Glen, Barney Breslin, Jimmy Harrower, Alex Robertson, Johnny McCall, Andy McGeachan, Johnny Divers, Paddy Callaghan, Bobby Atherton. Andy McGeachan scored the winning goal. Lugton records in Volume ii; that "The Hibernian team that was now to win the Scottish Cup in 1902 were all Scottish born [bar Bobby Atherton], although several were of Irish immigrant parentage, but not one was either Edinburgh or Leith born, and basically were young and of slight build"
The Hibs President was one Philip Farmer, The treasurer was Owen Brannigan, the captain was Bobby Atherton; whilst John Farmer was on the committee.
On this day in 1958, Hibs lost the Scottish Cup Final to Clyde, Hibs were hampered by the retiral of Lawrie Reilly the week before.
In 2003 we defeated Dundee United 2-1, . The team was: Colgan, Smith, Fenwick, Matyus, Doumbe, Jack, Brebner, Murray, Zambernardi, O'Connor (Riordan, 77), McManus. The Hibs scorers were McManus and Murray.
Oh, and we also drew a fairs cup semi 3-3 with Roma, which then went to a play off. Under current away goals ruling we would have made the final. Hibstory could have been very different.
