Division 1. It was the day that many grown up Hibs fans ran around like wee laddies on the Easter Road turf. It was joyous, it was a big party and yet it only took us back to where many think we should rightfully be. Not that that mattered at the time.
We brought the curtain down on our "Great Adventure" (copyright Tom O' Malley) in some style by beating our closest challengers Falkirk. Closest being relative, as they ended the season 23 points behind us. It's hard to believe that they were 6 points ahead of us after 6 games.
The Hibs team that day was: Gottskalksson, Collins, Renwick, Sauzee (McGinlay), Marinkov (Hughes), Dennis, Hartley, Crawford, Paatelainen, Latapy and Lovell.
Franck Sauzee scored his first goal for Hibs that day (a screamer from a corner, you might remember) and the second was added from Paul Hartley.
All in front of a crowd of 14843.
Happy days. Sort of.
