We rounded off our season two years ago at relegated St Johnstone, and 25 years ago we began an adventure of three games which almost reaped our first Scottish Cup win in 77 years. But it was not to be.
Two years ago, no so long after a certain Bobby Williamson had taken charge we headed to relegated St Johnstone for our final game of the season. We won, just as we had done in Bobbys' first game in charge, but the atmosphere was, well, a bit flat.
The Hibernian team that day was: Tony Caig, Allan Dempsie, Paul Fenwick, Gary Smith, Alen Orman, Derek Townsley, Jarkko Wiss (Nicol), Mathias Jack, Frederic Daquin (Whittaker), Craig Brewster (Reid), O'Connor.
Derek Townsley scored the only goal of the game just before half time in front of 3372 fans. Darren Dods and Paul Hartley lined up for the saints that day.
