On July 25th/26th Mark Whitworth and three of his friends are attempting to visit all 42 Scottish League grounds in 24 hours. In itself it will be a fine achievement, but the benefactors will be the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and the National Kidney Research Fund.
Already, they have raised over £2000 for this worthy venture, if you would like to help them raise more, please read on.
Mark writes: "The All Points North Charity Challenge is being organised by myself and 3 friends. It is an attempt to visit all 42 Scottish football league grounds in 24 hours. Starting at Berwick Rangers at 6pm on 25 July, we hope to arrive at Ross County, 776 miles and 41 stops later, before 6pm the following day. As far as we know, this has never been attempted before, so we believe we will be setting a record, as well as raising what we hope will be at least a 5-figure sum."
"All money raised is being split between the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and the National Kidney Research Fund. So far we have raised well over £2,000 and we still have over 2 months. The Guide Dogs was my own choice, and the National Kidney Federation was the choice of Gregg Bellham, one of our co-organisers, who has been undergoing kidney dialysis for the past 2 years."
"We have a website which contains all the details - http://www.scots42tour.co.uk please take the time to visit." |
