Hibs have signed Northern Irish strker Dean Shiels who was recently released by Arsenal.
Mogg had this to say: "I saw Dean when I took an Ipswich reserve side to Highbury, but I knew all about Sammy [Morrow] at Ipswich. I have been keeping an eye on the lads for some time now."
Shiels, left Highbury recently although he still had a year on contract; "I left Arsenal three weeks ago a free agent, it was my choice for I still had 12 months left on my contract, but there was no point again playing reserve-team football. I want first-team football."
"I spoke to Colin Murdock and he said it was a great club. It's a lovely club and the manager and coach Mark Venus have really impressed me. I have been told that I would be very much involved in every game which is why I chose the club."
"It's great that Sammy also got a three-year contract as we played in the schoolboy and youth international sides together and are great mates."
Shiels has agreed a three year contract, as has Morrow who initially arrived on a months trial. |
