ImageIt is with much sadness that Mass Hibsteria today hears of John Peels death.

John Peel today passed away at the age of 65, after suffering a fatal heart attack in Peru. He was on a working holiday there.

DJ Janice Long, a former Radio 1 colleague of Peel, said: “John was incredibly passionate about everything he did – not just music, but his family too.

“He enjoyed an incredible career, touching many people’s lives – everyone has heard of John Peel. A maverick in the radio industry, he will be a great loss.”
