About

"I think Juninho would have been proud to score a goal like that - but he couldn’t be as proud as I am. It’s always very pleasing to get your first goal for your new club and I was delighted it counted for something as we got a point."

"Make no doubt about it, I was going for goal. As I came in from the left I had a look over to see if anyone was in a more clear-cut position, but they were not. I didn’t want to smash the ball at the goalkeeper because he’d probably have saved it so I was delighted to push it beneath him and into the far corner of the net. It was an important time for us to score with them having equalised just a minute or so earlier."

"Everyone stopped when the flag went up. I know you should play to the whistle but it took a long time for the officials to discuss the matter.

"It was disappointing when it was allowed to stand but in scoring immediately I think we showed the character in our team. We defended very well, not just the back four but the entire 11 of us and I think we deserved to get at least a point."

"We’d been working on the back four since that match and I think we defended much better."
