This week's Rivals Revealed is the first part in a two part interview with Gilberto the Crazy Arab from ArabFC

In this installement, he looks towards the league game and next week previews the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

Thanks to Gilberto for doing the interview!

Your name:  Gilberto The Crazy Arab

Team: DUFC

How long have you been an Arabs fan?

For as long as I can remember, around 20 years. My first game was Paul Sturrock's testimonial against Real Sociedad at Tannadice which United won 3-0

What is your all-time favourite Dundee Utd match?

Easy. Scottish Cup Final 1994. Dundee United 1 - 0 Rangers

What is your most memorable match against the Hibs?

Probably the 1-0 defeat in December 2000 (I think). Alan Freeland adds on 3 minutes of injury time with the scores at 0-0. Then Jim Lauchlan goes down injured and United kick the ball out. Hibs unfortunately don't give the ball back, go down the right wing and win a corner. From the resultant corner, Mattias Jack performs the most shocking dive I've ever seen, Freeland awards the penalty and Hibs score the winner in the SEVENTH minute of injury time. Don't think I've ever felt so much anger after a game of football. However, I think it had a positive effect on United and we went on a good run and managed to stave off relegation having looked doomed at the turn of the year.

Hibs meet DUFC in the league this week then again in the semi final of the Scottish Cup.  Clearly both games are important to both teams, but if you had to choose only one game where your team would be the victors, which game would you choose and why?

I'm the same as every other United fan at the moment. The League game is by far the most important. I'd much rather have the 3 points in the league. A win in the Cup would be great as it would secure a Cup Final and possibly European Football but there's no question that staying in the SPL is Dundee United's priority

Do you think the tactics and players used will be similar for both games?

Well now McCall has left there's a chance that we might even deploy tactics. There's no doubt that the United team will be fairly similar for both games. We don't have a huge squad to choose from and have a few injuries. As for tactics, I just hope Chisholm doesn't take do a McCall and play players out of position. Billy Dodds will never be a midfielder. I'd expect Chisholm would have the players up for both games, as they are huge games for the club.

Who are the United players who have made an impact this season in your opinion?

Jim McIntyre is a hugely under rated player, but again has scored so many vital goals for us and played his part. The only other player who has done the business this season is Mark Wilson, who has played consistantly well for us whether it be at right back or midfield. He is destined for greater things. Stevie Crawford has impressed me since signing and it looks like a good bit of business by United.

Ian McCall.  Happy or sad he’s gone?

A bit of both. There's no doubt the majority of fans were delighted getting McCall as manager, and the improvement shown this term. But this season has been absolutely awful and McCall seemed to have no idea how to improve things. What annoyed supporters the most was the constant crap he came out with to the media after another poor performance. It was always someone else to blame, when simply we played poor and weren't good enough to win the 3 points.

There’s been a lot of speculation about who will replace him.  Some of the names in the fray are Jockie Scott, Craig Brown, Craig Brewster, Paul Sturrock and Terry Butcher.  Who would you like to see appointed as his replacement?

Personally, I would love Brewster, and have been saying so ever since his appointment at Caley. He seems to have done a great job in organising his side, making them very tough to beat as well as making sure the fitness levels are high at the club, which seems to be a problem at Tannadice. He's also an Arab and a United legend after scoring the Cup winning goal. Don't think he'll leave Caley though. Jocky Scott and Neale Cooper seem more likely at the moment.

Jocky the Janny - on his way to Tannadice?

Ok, enough about DUFC! What is your opinion of Easter Road as a stadium?

I really enjoy games at Easter Road. It's a stadium which provides a great atmosphere. It's a bit too green for my liking though.

Which 3 Hibs players (if any) would you love to see in a Dundee United shirt?

I'd take your goalie, your reserve team goalie and your youth team goalie.

Seriously though, I like Ian Murray as a player, and he is fairly versatile, and gives 100%. Derek Riordan is a fantastic talent and would be a great addition to any SPL side. Thirdly, I'd probably opt for "Boozy" in front of O'Connor as we have plenty of decent strikers at Tannadice. Midfield is a bit more of a problem and Beuzelin seems to be able to unlock defences.

Likewise which three Dundee United players would you gladly give away to Hibs?

Just 3? I'd give you our keeper "Sandra" Bullock, he's worth 2 goals a game coming for (and missing) crosses alone.

Then I'd give you Billy Dodds and let him run about like a headless chicken in your midfield.

And lastly, Collin Samuel, a player who spends more time on his arse than his feet.

What are your expectations for DUFC this season? Can you avoid relegation?

I'd sacrifice the Cup Final for 11th place. We simply have to stay up. I'm not convinced we will. A lot will depend on whether Gordon Chisholm (or whoever's in charge) can get the best out of the players. If that happens we will stay up. It's a big IF though.

Likewise where do you see Hibs finishing this season?

I hope you finish 3rd as you've played the best football outside the Old Firm. I'm a big fan of what Mowbray's done at Easter Road. The big test will be whether he can maintain the same form next season.

Finally, what do you think the score will be this Saturday?

I think Hibs will edge it, but United will give them a better game than the last meeting at Easter Road. 2-1 Hibs.
